The Story
About this campaign
There are different stories in our Puranas about when and how Nandi first got this boon. A seemingly simple gift — but one that carries a profound message. And on this, every Purana agrees: anything whispered into his ears would reach Bhagwan Shiv — straight.
But today, in Kalyug — when Nandi is dutifully doing his job towards us — are we doing ours towards him?
Trafficked for illegal slaughter. Dumped in a truck like a potato sack. Separated from his mother at birth. Left to roam, starving, in the streets. Would his cries not be reaching Bhagwan Shiv?
This Shravan, let's take a sankalp: to give, every day, in Nandi's name — as per our capacity. To feed him. To nurture him. To shelter him. So he carries not just your wish, but a good word for you, to Bhagwan Shiv.
Choose what to feed him — we'll do it for you, daily, at the Dhyan Foundation goshala until Shravan ends on 28 August. Every contribution carries an 80G tax benefit.

The churning begins
Shravan is the month associated with the legendary samudra manthan — the churning of the ocean.
For Goddess Lakshmi
The suras and asuras began the churning in order to please Goddess Lakshmi, and agreed to share the fruits of that labour equally.
Fourteen ratnas — then the venom
Fourteen ratnas came out of the ocean, followed by the halahal, which neither group was willing to accept.
Bhagwan Shiv intervenes
He drank the halahal himself. Only then came the amrit, which was taken to Devalok.

Shravan Shivratri — the sankalp begins
Today is Sawan Shivratri. From tomorrow, every rupee given here becomes that evening's feed at the goshala — gud, daliya, hara chaara, pual. 17 days of Shravan remain.
