A seven-day intensive yoga retreat organised by Dhyan Foundation under the guidance of Ashwini Guruji was held in Jaipur from January 17 to January 23, 2026. This six-night residential retreat brought together more than 200 seekers from across the world for a rare, practice-driven immersion into profound and traditional yogic sciences.
The retreat focused on direct experience and practical application rather than theoretical study. Participants were introduced to powerful and lesser-known dimensions of yogic practices, including Surya Sadhana, the Science of Yagyas, Past Life Visitation and specialised Physical Fitness and Anti-Ageing Kriyas. Each module was designed to build inner awareness, physical strength, and spiritual alignment.
Each day began before sunrise with Surya Saiyam practices. Seekers practiced in the early morning hours, absorbing the pranic energy of the rising sun while chanting under Guruji's guidance—an experience many described as deeply energising and centering.
Structured yogic kriyas and advanced balancing techniques were taught to enhance vitality, flexibility and longevity. Equal emphasis was placed on correct breathing techniques during intense physical practices, ensuring that effort and prana remained in harmony.
A significant part of the retreat was dedicated to the sacred science of Yagyas. Participants were guided through traditional fire rituals for purification, protection and spiritual elevation. Mantra chanting formed an integral component, with Guruji stressing the importance of receiving mantra directly from one's Guru for it to be truly effective.
During the sessions, Guruji also emphasised on the law of karma and explained the five primary hindrances on the path of Yoga—Kaam (endless craving), Krodh (uncontrolled anger), Moh (possessiveness), Ahankar (ego identity) and Lobh (greed for what is not yours). He emphasised that transcendence of these obstacles is essential for attaining true yogic freedom.
One of the most talked-about experiences of the retreat was the guided past life visitation, where all participants had many past life experiences and reported deep personal insights.
Seekers attended from multiple countries including Canada, Ireland, Australia, USA, UK and Indonesia—reflecting the growing global interest in authentic yogic practices.
Sarah, who travelled from Australia, shared that witnessing glimpses of her past births helped her better understand her present life direction and purpose. Shakun, an IT professional from Canada, expressed amazement at the level of flexibility and stamina he achieved through the kriyas in just seven days. Dr. Akshay, a leading laparoscopic surgeon from Kochi, said, “The yagya practices brought a rare stillness to both my body and mind.”
Overall, the retreat was widely described by participants as transformative, not just a programme of yoga practices, but a deeply rejuvenating inner journey.
