Kaivalyapaad, Yogsutra 4.16
Patanjali now dwells on the relation or dependence of object on the chitta,
न चैकचित्ततन्त्रं वस्तु तदप्रमाणकं तदा किं स्यात् ॥ ४.१६ ॥
na chaikachittatantram vastu tadapramaanakam tadaa kim syaat || 4.16 ||
na - not
cha - and
ekchitta - one mind
tantram - to be controlled or dependent
vastu - object
tad - that
apramaanakam - not cognised
tada - then
kim - what
syaat - exist
And if, the object was dependant on one chitta alone, then on not being cognised by that chitta, would it cease to exist?
