With all the technological, scientific and economic developments, it comes as a rude shocker that hunger remains the number 1 cause of death across the world. According to the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) which gives a Global Hunger Index (GHI) says that India is 67th among the worst 80 countries in terms of malnourishment and approximately 230 million people go to bed hungry, every day.
It is the dharma of every being to provide for food, shelter and medicine for those weaker than them – birds, animals, human beings. It is following this philosophy that Dhyan Foundation has taken to the cause to feed the hungry across the country.
Dhyan Foundation langars feed thousands on a daily basis across the country, with almost 20 spots in Delhi alone. There are numerous spots in Ludhiana, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Dehradun, Faridabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Noida organized at various locations like hospitals, temples and labour chawks. The langar at AIIMS, Delhi alone feeds thousands every month.
says that service and charity are an essential part to progress on the path of Yog. Every day has a specific energy and therefore it is essential to follow a niyam so you can tap on the energy of that particular day. Whether it is feeding a dog, cow, birds or organizing langars – one must do it every day as a duty towards the creation.
Dhyan Foundation also organsies langars on days of special significance like Amavasya, Poornima, Ashtami and other festivals, when the energies are on their height, and the effect of any act performed is manifold for a sadhak.
