| Feed A Dog |
How it all began...
“It is Dharma of every human being to provide food, medicine and shelter to every man, animal and plant in the range of your sight.”- Yogi Ashwini
3rd September, Goa
Kadamba bus stand : A street dog is seriously injured and nearing a tragic end. The dog lies there writhing in pain, succumbing to the injuries while people just walk past by so casually.
It is not until two critical hours have passed that some good samaritans take the animal to the government vet hospital not far from the spot, only to be turned away. The dog dies.
There is no act more deplorable than that which leads to loss of innocent life, especially at the hands of callousness! Then be it a human being or an animal, the gift of life is to be treasured and respected no less.
| And thus fad was born. |

Under the guiding light of Yogi Ashwini, Dhyan Foundation took to the cause of ‘street dogs’ and began a campaign that seeks to feed as many as of our
canine friends in its first stage, across Delhi and NCR. Volunteers of the Foundation conducted thorough on-ground research and visited many animal shelters to identify areas and means to maximize the reach of the campaign.
A campaign that DOES NOT end on paper, publicity and ink, but one that reaches every dog on the street in the form of food and milk. Once a roadmap was drawn, fad volunteers got down to action. Today fad is in its 3rd month and spreading fast!
As of today, more than 200 canines are fed daily and permanent feeding spots have been erected so as to involve the general public as well. Fad is fast taking shape in other parts of the country as well such as Bengalooru, Chandigarh, Kolkata etc. In addition to the feeding drives, awareness drives are also held on a frequent basis to sensitise a wider audience to the plight of street dogs.

Alternatively, if you know a group of people/friends/individuals who are passionate about dogs and already rendering selfless service and love, do let us know and we will be more than glad to support them, the best we can.
Also, if YOU want to organise fad drives in your locality, form a group of friends and we will figure out the logistics for you, and provide the support you need to kickstart the initiative.

Dhyan Foundation runs on the principle of voluntary participation. Expenses for all of foundation’s activities, such as travel and other logistical support, are borne by the members/volunteers themselves. Not a single penny is taken out from the Charities i.e. all the money/resources that are collected for a specific initiative are channelized into that very initiative. Come see for yourself! You are also welcome to become a part of fad or several other unique initiatives run by Dhyan Foundation under the guiding light of Yogi Ashwini. |
