Radiation-Resistant Housing
Radiation-Resistant Housing
In states facing severe groundwater pollution like Punjab, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Jharkhand, we are championing the return to traditional, chemical-free farming. We encourage the use of natural fertilizers — such as cow dung and cow urine — replacing harmful chemical inputs that leach into the earth and water. Our shelters also engage in sustainable farming by growing fodder using pit composting, vermicomposting, and leaf composting, restoring microbial life and improving soil structure. With over 50 varieties of trees and plants cultivated, we actively reduce soil erosion, protect aquifers, and contribute to healthier crops and cleaner drinking water.

Govar Bricks & Logs
Govar Bricks & Logs
We’ve crafted govar bricks and govar logs as sustainable, biodegradable alternatives to traditional building and fuel materials. Govar bricks are used in eco-housing, offering insulation, strength, and radiation resistance. Our govar logs serve as a clean-burning fuel substitute, reducing deforestation and air pollution caused by wood and coal. Both products are waste-free, carbon-conscious, and empower local women artisans — turning cow dung into “brown gold” that supports climate action and rural livelihood.

Biogas Generation
Biogas Generation
In Hariharpur and Gajegadha (Uttar Pradesh), we’ve built biogas systems using local labour to convert organic waste into renewable energy. These installations replace wood and coal, reducing harmful emissions and protecting forest resources. They also offer cleaner indoor air for rural families and reduce methane from decomposing waste. Biogas brings energy self-reliance to rural communities, helps tackle climate change, and creates a circular system where waste is transformed into clean power.

Solar Energy
Solar Energy
Our shelters in Uttar Pradesh now run fully on solar power. We've also installed solar lights at shelters in Karnataka, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Tripura. This move reduces carbon emissions, avoids fossil fuel dependence, and ensures uninterrupted electricity in remote areas. Solar energy is a clean, low-maintenance alternative that supports long-term environmental sustainability. It lights up shelters and lives — while protecting the planet.

Govar pots
Govar pots
Our eco-friendly govar pots, crafted at Dhyan Ashram, naturally break down in the soil within weeks. As they decompose, they release organic nutrients that enhance plant health and support soil fertility. These biodegradable alternatives to plastic reduce landfill pollution and promote a zero-waste cycle. Simple, effective, and completely natural — govar pots are proof that even small, everyday actions can restore harmony with nature.

Reduction in Air Pollution
Reduction in Air Pollution
Air pollution in Delhi often reaches catastrophic levels during winter, largely due to paddy straw burning in Punjab and Haryana. We intervened with an impactful, ground-up solution — purchasing 3 crore kg of dry fodder directly from farmers each year, giving them an economic incentive to not burn their crop residue. This initiative prevented over 1,40,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, directly addressing up to 32% of Delhi’s PM 2.5 air pollution. Our action shows how localized, grassroots interventions can have large-scale climate impact — saving lives, healing the air, and encouraging sustainable farming practices.

Restoring Soil Quality
Restoring Soil Quality
Soil erosion is one of the most serious environmental challenges in India, with nearly 30% of the nation’s land classified as degraded. Natural and human factors such as deforestation, overgrazing, and intensive agriculture strip away the fertile topsoil, leading to reduced crop productivity, loss of biodiversity, and desertification. States like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh are among the worst affected.
Dhyan Foundation is working to restore soil health by reviving the ancient Vedic practice of using govar (cow dung) as a natural fertilizer. Govar enriches the soil, increases crop yield, and prevents erosion while also serving as a natural disinfectant, fuel, and building material. In ancient India, it was considered so valuable that it was gifted to priests and temples.
Continuing this tradition, Dhyan Foundation distributes free govar to farmers in states where it operates 45+ shelters, supporting sustainable agriculture and healthy ecosystems.

Impact on Human Health and Animal Health
Impact on Human Health and Animal Health
1. Reduce in exposure to harmful pesticides and chemicals that can cause various acute and chronic diseases, such as cancer, neurodevelopmental disorders, hormonal disruption, and reproductive problems.
2. Improve the nutritional quality and safety of food by increasing the content of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that have beneficial effects on human health. Conventional crops have more cadmium, a toxic heavy metal that can accumulate in the kidneys and liver and cause damage to various organs.
3. Enhance food security and diversity by increasing crop yields and resilience to drought and pests. Natural methods such as crop rotation, intercropping, cover crops, compost, and manure to improve soil health and fertility.
4. Diversification of crop varieties and products, which can enhance the food diversity and nutrition of the population
5. Reduce antibiotic resistance by avoiding the use of growth hormones, antibiotics, and genetically modified organisms in animal production. This can reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance in animals and humans.
6. Follow ethical standards for animal husbandry that ensure adequate space, feed, water, shelter, health care, and natural behaviour for animals.
