Sanatan Kriya
Yoga, a 5,000-year-old science, has its origin in the Vedas, the ancient Indian systems of knowledge. Lately, however, the subject has been commercialized. Innovation, an integral part of commercialization, has led to the dilution of the original formulae. The ultimate loser is the practitioner, as yoga is a subtle science and even minor errors in its practice can cause major and irrevocable damage.
It is to stem the tide of commercialization, to dispel the popular myths about yoga and to prevent the damage caused by wrong practices that Yogi Ashwini has plunged into an awareness-building campaign on yoga-through free workshops, writing signed articles, talks and books.
Yogi Ashwini is a strict adherent of the Patangali Yoga Sutras and the Guru-Shishya Parampara.
The Sutras, written by Sage Patanjali, the fountainhead of yoga, are an exhaustive treatise on the subject. He advocated the practice of Ashtanga (eight-limbed) Yoga in its totality for the right results, namely, yama, niyam, asan, pranayam, pratyahaar, dharna, dhyan and samadhi.
Yogi Ashwini, who studied ‘the being’ for more than two decades, has adapted the ancient techniques to formulate Sanatan Kriya that encapsulates all the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga. Based on the principle that vikriti or disease is nothing but a deviation from prakriti or nature, the Kriya brings the practitioner into santulan or a state of balance.

Guru-Shishya-Parampara (mentor-disciple-tradition) is the principle on which gyan is imparted at Dhyan Foundation. Each student is monitored individually by Yogi Ashwini. There is special emphasis on purifications, strictly in accordance with the ancient practices. Higher practices are imparted as per the student’s dedication and capacity. A practitioner is advised to follow the path of selfless charity and service, which are the core of yoga; in fact, a must for eligibility for the higher practices. |
