Yogiji addressing the gathering

Opening note

Yogiji addressing the gathering

People from all walks of life and all age groups thronged in huge numbers and high on enthusiasm looking forward to what this special day held in store for them. The event was covered by the media and the flash simply never seemed to stop firing. And understandably so, after all the launch of the Hindi version was much anticipated and eagerly awaited for, following the roaring success of ‘Sanatan Kriya, 51 miracles and a Haunting’ (English version) both in India and overseas. The reception of the book in the UK, during Yogiji’s recent visit was especially heart warming. A real highlight of the visitwas Yogi Ashwini's invitational lecture at the prestigious Oxford University. A university that boasts of arguably the best minds on the planet and is the cradle of future technology, innovation and belief systems, played humble host to Yogiji.

Amidst all this fanfare and euphoria, the single most important sentiment that rode the minds of all present, was a simple desire to have Guru Darshan on a day when the Guru’s energy is at its highest and most accessible. Guru Poornima has a special place as mentioned before. By merely being in your Guru’s presence on this day, can have amazing effects on the evolution of a sadhak and give phenomenal experiences of the inner world.

Guru Poornima is popularly believed to be Rishi Ved Vyas’s birth anniversary. He documented the Vedas, Puranas and authored epics like Mahabharata. Before the times of Rishi Vyas, the Gyaan was imparted as Shrotras and Smritis. Rishi Vyas knew that in the coming age, the Kalyug, the concept of a Guru will be forgotten, hence he for the benefit of all mankind documented this Gyaan in form of the Vedas and Puranas.

Further expounding the benevolence and kindness of our ancient Rishis, Yogiji said, “All 365 days of a year have their own special significance for a human being in exact proportion and of exact relevance to a man’s desires. Of these 365 days, four days hold special significance for a sadhak and these are Holi, Diwali, Shivratri and Guru Poornima. These are the days on which the energy patterns are such that you can access your Guru’s shakti easily.”
He continued, “One should understand that Guru is an Energy and never mistake it to be a physical entity;an energy that takes you from darkness towards light. Yog Guru apne liye kuch nahi kehta ya karta… everything that he says or does is always only for the benefit of mankind.”

Mincing no words He said, “The Media should first understand their own culture and what Yog really is,and then take up the responsibility of projecting that which is their own heritage in a manner befitting this golden legacy and giving it its due credit. Let us all make an effort, casting aside our superficial differences, to tell our fellow country men first and then the whole world, what Yog is really about. This book is but a small step in serving this larger cause.”
